What this is
The Klarenbach Special Crops Report is the technical-analysis newsletter for Saskatchewan and prairie pulses and specialty grains, published by Trent Klarenbach, B.S.A., PAg, founder of Klarenbach Research in Saskatoon.
It covers red lentils, large green lentils, small green lentils, medium green lentils, yellow peas, green peas, kabuli chickpeas, canaryseed and mustard, plus the inputs that move margins: fertilizer, diesel, interest rates and the Canadian dollar.
What it is not
It is not a cash-bid sheet, not a buyer, and not investment advice. Nothing here is an offer to buy or sell grain.
The report reads price.
Fundamentals are context, not the call.
What is public
Each note leads with a dated level and a bias.
As of 2 Sep 2026 the Saskatchewan red lentil index was testing a 20 cent floor, small green lentils had rebounded to 20 cent support, and canaryseed was holding 18 cent support.
As of 23 Sep 2026 green peas were holding $9.00 a bushel near a 20-year trend line.
The chart walkthrough, targets and danger zone stay subscriber-only.
How to read a note
Crop, level, date, bias, then the trigger that would change the bias.
Canaryseed is one word.
Levels are the public sentence.
The rest of the chart is the product.
